The 38-year-old, known for her hit “Tik Tok,” revealed that her music played a significant role in their breakup, providing her with clarity.
“Essentially, I’ve discovered that writing songs helps me uncover my truth,” she expressed during the interview.
“I was previously engaged and realized I didn’t want to be anymore, though it didn’t hit me until I wrote a song about it. When I listened to it afterward, it dawned on me, ‘Oh, wow, I’m going to break up with him now,’” the award-winning singer shared, choosing not to reveal her former fiancé’s name.
She added, “Writing that song led me to my truth because you can’t lie in a song. If you do, not only will it sound bad, but that’s not the purpose of songwriting, you know?” Kesha has been romantically linked to Brad Ashenfelter, Michael Gilvary, and Riccardo Maddalosso in the past.
